LAW ENFORCEMENT CLOSE QUARTERS CLEARANCE (CQC)
VGS provides Close Quarters Clearance (CQC) courses for patrol-level officers and SWAT. For departments in IL our instructors are certified through ILETSB and each of our CQC courses are ILETSB accredited. VGS instructors are passionate about taking the lessons learned from fighting hardened opposition in combat and teaching them to LE in order to ensure officers are equipped to handle the most dangerous types of threats.
Our Method
The deliberate style CQC that we teach as our standard differs from many LE approaches. Our method affords the ability for officers to have the proper situational awareness which enables good tactical decisions outside the room before committing to entry. Our method will also significantly reduce the liability of each individual officer and the department if officers should have to use the maximum level of force. Liability is lessened by allowing officers to use de-escalation techniques, cover, and concealment from outside the room which provides safer options when dealing with an armed threat.
