NVG NIGHT SHOOT

This course is designed for those who have night vision/IR laser equipment and would like to learn the fundamentals of night vision/IR laser methods in a tactical shooting environment.

Objective

Students will receive classroom and range time instruction. The classroom will consist of an introduction to NVGs and IR lasers and how to use this equipment in a tactical shooting environment.

In the classroom, students will learn the history of NVG use in the SEAL teams during combat missions overseas, the lessons learned from those missions, as well as proper gear selection, gear use/considerations, IR laser ballistics, and dope.

Time on the range will consist of a gear shakeout, doping in IR lasers, and some basic movement to understand depth perception loss on NVG’s.

Students will then practice shooting on paper targets from the 7-10 yard line with white light transitions, and then shoot steel targets out to 200 yards from the prone, kneeling, and standing positions.
