Defensive Vehicle 1
Defensive Vehicle is designed to teach students the fundamentals of operating in and around a vehicle. This course covers vehicle ballistics, identifying effective points of cover, proper carry and ready positions, shooting positions at various distances from the vehicle, weapons manipulation, and the practical application of cover versus concealment.

- Vehicle ballistics
- Points of cover
- Carry positions/ ready positions
- Shooting positions and distance from vehicle
- Weapons manipulation and ready positions
- Cover and concealment (how to use them), interior vehicle positioning and movement
- Close proximity engagements from inside the vehicle
- Bailout procedures
- Vehicle positioning
- Bounding as pairs & teams
- Bailouts & bounding with a principle to a hard point
- Low light movement considerations
- NOD/S & white light principles
- Force-on-force UTM scenarios
Gear Requirements
- Rifle, pistol or both (must have white light capability)
- NODs/IR laser (if running that platform)
- 350 rounds
- Eye and ear pro
- Minimum of a second line (battle belt) with proper holster for pistol and 2x extra magazine pouch pistol. Also include at least 1x rifle pouch.
- Water / Snacks Proper range attire: Athletic, tactical, or comfortable clothing (pants & high-neckline shirt).
- No low-cut tops (prevent hot brass burns).
- Closed-toe shoes.
