MEET WAYNE SCHEMMER
INSTRUCTOR
Wayne’s childhood consisted of weekends spent at World War II reenactments with his parents, which sparked his passion for the military. He joined the Army’s delayed entry program between his junior and senior year of highschool. Then 9/11 happened and he was shipped off to war.
In August of 2002, Wayne left for infantry basic training and airborne school at Fort Benning. He would later be assigned to the 82nd airborne division at Fort Bragg. In February of 2003 he was off to Kuwait and took part in the initial invasion of Iraq in March. After 2 Iraq tours and over 450 days deployed, Wayne exited the army at the end of his contract in 2005. Though leaving the military his passion for all things tactical has never ceased.
At the Aurora Sportsmen’s Club, he participates in various shooting competitions and is a lead tactics instructor for their T.A.S.C. Program. He is passionate about transferring the skills acquired in combat to civilians who want to learn how to defend themselves. Wayne’s primary hobby is pouring his time and energy into learning about the latest tactical gear on the market to best equip the gun fighter.
Wayne has been married for 14 years. He has two children and he runs his own business in the trades.
